A number of key messages came out of the
Development Day in October 2006 and these were outlined in the
report circulated to BLSP members.
The consensus
was that the Bassetlaw Local Strategic Partnership needed to
focus its energies on a number of key priority areas and that
this activity would be driven by the Board. It was agreed that
the central support provided by the Council would be directed to
these priority areas.
It was agreed
that the work in the Sub-Groups would continue but they would
need to operate more autonomously. It was agreed that reports
to the Board from the Sub-Groups would be on an exception basis
i.e. if a particular group needed assistance from the Board to
achieve an objective. It was also noted that there was a need
to build the capacity of a number of the Sub-Groups.
There was
general agreement that the BLSP concentrate on a smaller number
of partnership priority issues.
The three
priority areas agreed for 2007-09 are:
·
Well-being and success of Children and Young People
·
Alcohol Misuse (as an aspect of anti-social behaviour and
health)
·
Skills and Worklessness
